In 2005, South Africa prepared 13 (temporary) stadiums for the World Cup, including Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban,Johannesburg, Kimberley, Klerksdorp, Nelspruit, Orkney, Polokwane, Port Elizabeth, Pretoria and Rustenburg But later reduced to only 10.

The 32 qualifiers were divided into eight groups, which formed the basis for the draw for the group stage participated groups include:

Final match
The final took place on July 11, 2010 at the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg. Spain beat the Netherlands 1-0 two 15-minute overtime passes by Andrés Iniesta in the 116th minute. The victory gave Spain their first World Cup title. By becoming the eighth team to win the World Cup.
